All New Roller Rink to Roll in to Manchester later this year.

New family friendly venue joins Chunky’s and Cowabunga’s at Huse Rd Plaza.

Roller Skating is making a comeback later this year in Manchester thanks to REMIX Roller Skate and Event Center, a new family-friendly roller rink opening alongside Cowabunga’s and Chunky’s at 725 Huse Rd. The venue is set to open later this year for skate sessions, birthday parties, and group functions.

“We’re excited to bring roller skating back to New Hampshire in a new and unique way.” says co-owner Matt Pearson.“ The venue sits at the former Lowe’s site in Manchester that has since seen Chunky’s, Cowabunga’s and Planet Fitness take the space over. REMIX will have a large maple-wood skate floor, restaurant, bar, and arcade. Matt, with his wife Kelly, opened Cowabunga’s at the site 6 years ago. “We’ve remixed the concept of roller skating by integrating a fun drink and food menu, added a modern design, and refined the rink size and ticketing capacity to ensure enjoyable experiences for all skaters.”

REMIX will boast a state-of-the-art sound and lighting effects system, laser shows, and fun programming nightly to compliment a modern vibe centered around roller skating games and activities. Ready for a break? REMIX will have a full pub menu featuring burgers, flatbreads, tacos and more! REMIX is a “Social Drink Rink” of sorts, too; they’ll have mocktails, cocktails and more to enjoy as you gaze in to the mirror balls clustered at center rink. An undertaking this big takes some help. The Pearson’s enlisted US Design Lab, a family entertainment center design service to bring their expertise to the table. “Roller Skating is seeing a strong resurgence across the US, and the design of REMIX Manchester is celebrating the traditional fun of skating in a beautiful state-of-the-art venue perfect for family fun, nightlife, and private events.” says Gary Smith; co-owner of US Design Lab. The Pearson’s plan to expand this concept to other markets, much like they’ve done with their Cowabunga’s brand over the years.

As the retail landscape changes, communities have often clamored for experience-based venues to fill vacancies. We’re thrilled to give our community a desperately-needed gathering place families can trust” continued Pearson. Mayor Craig agrees, “I grew up roller skating at Bedford Grove and at Happy Wheels, and I join many in sharing my excitement to roll on over to REMIX for great family fun within our community,” said Mayor Joyce Craig. “Manchester is ever-growing with new developments like REMIX and I’m grateful that Matt and Kelly Pearson saw the opportunity to bring their dream for this space to life here. We’ll now have a great state-of-the-art community space with roller skating, food and drinks in our city, and it also brings jobs and so much more. My only question is when am I going to lace up my skates and meet our Manchester neighbors on the rink?”

REMIX plans to add 30 positions raging from kitchen staff, skater-tainers, and safety attendants as the venue nears opening towards the end of the year. “We hope everyone clears their New Year’s Eve calendar; we look forward to closing out 2023 in style with an array of fun for vacation week!” REMIX has a website and social media presence that will feature gift cards and rental information at www.skateremix.com
