Remix to host weekly Sensory-Friendly roller skating events this summer.
Starting July 11, Special skate sessions with minimized effects lighting & toned down music makes for an experience inclusive of those sensitive to traditional rink features begin on select Thursdays 12-2 this summer.
New Hampshire has an all new roller rink called Remix Skate and Event Center that opened in the heart of the largest shopping hub in the state and right next to the Mall of New Hampshire earlier this year. The venue features a vintage looking skate hall with throwback colors & vibes. Owners say its a venue for everyone. “We opened Remix to be a hub for all types; from the families that want to enjoy a fun-filled birthday parties on weekends, to adults that want to re-earn their skate legs and skate to awesome throwbacks from the 80s and 90s while enjoying a great drink. We’ve got something for everyone at Remix” says Matthew Pearson; who opened Remix with his wife Kelly. Both are local entrepreneurs who also operate the award-winning children’s venue Cowabunga’s next-door.
The venue boasts a large seating area with a full restaurant, along with a fully stocked bar adorned with vintage skates seemingly from every decade and well-worn skate cases with emblems of rinks past.
Remix skate admission is $20 for a 2 hour session for most daily skate sessions. All skate admissions include skate rentals of skates or roller blades. Spectators are welcome free of charge with any paid skater and are encouraged to enjoy the throwback food and drink menu while they enjoy the sights and sounds of the roller rink. On evenings, they host 18+ adult-only skate nights where groups can come in to learn to skate all over again without having to dodge too many young kids along the rink.
Of the more steady requests by guests, Remix announced a summer line up of events that include a Sensory-Friendly skate session for guests of all abilities. The sessions will run most Thursdays from 12pm to 2pm and feature standard house lighting, no effect lighting, subdued background music and several amenities that are not typically enjoyed during other sessions. These include welcoming caretakers on the rink in their sneakers to help their skaters along, or provide assistance as needed. Restaurant features like TVs and tableside trivia will be turned off. Rinkside staff will be available to help keep a supportive eye of those interested in taking their skills to the next level.

Our exclusive Party Area has the capacity to host two parties simultaneously. Each side of the area is equipped with table seating for up to 16 people, along with a row of comfortable bench seating. Additionally, you’ll find a cozy small couch and coffee table setup, perfect for relaxing or mingling. And let’s not forget the handy long skinny table, dedicated to displaying cakes and presents. Our roller skating rink is over 12,000 square feet of fun with more than half being dedicated to our maple roller skating rink. Our space was especially designed for hosting birthday parties and events with a special space for parties to set up and hang out when not skating. We recommend our roller skating birthday parties for ages 7 and above, with exception to our skate and scoot morning party. While your child may have mastered the art of roller skating, most younger children struggle with the coordination required to stay upright on skates, making it especially exhausting for parents.
